I’m super excited about this song mainly because I’m a huge fan of the live-action Popeye movie. It was a VHS tape I’d play in my regular rotation of films. My cover takes an upbeat approach to this otherwise slow and dreamy tune. I think it’s a lot more fun to play it my way.
‘He Needs Me’ was written by Harry Nilsson in 1980 and was released with the film in 1981.
